Benefits of renting an instrument
A third option would be to rent the horn, and even rent-to-own. This is a great option if you are unsure if your child is going to stick to his or her instrument, or if they might swap it in a year to learn another. This option in the long run will cost the same as if you bought the horn new straight out, without the concern you might have about what to do with the horn if your child looses interest. Simply return the instrument at the end of the school year, or you could continue to rent it until it is paid off and you own it.
